About

My mission is to improve the state of the printed word.

As my 9th-grade English teacher said, "Be precise."  Precision in language is essential for the very best results in communicating successfully.

And communication, as we know, can save the world or destroy it. We have a duty to get it right.

It's that simple.

What I Do

I edit text in a wide variety of fields, from fiction to science and engineering.  My approach to editing is designed to improve clarity without sacrificing your unique style and tone.  My proofreading ensures correct and error-free text.

I love writers.

Helping and nurturing those who create with language is what I love to do.  Writing is indeed an art.

I admit it.
I'm a data wonk.

I was raised by a librarian, got a degree in the field, and have spent my life finding and organizing information.  I'm passionate about
  • Researching topics
  • Writing clear and elegant text
  • Getting things right
It's just the way I am.

Right out of college with a bachelor's degree and a master's degree, I began my lifelong love affair with the world of information--more specifically, written information.

Starting with chemical engineering at The University of Texas, I proceeded to work in computer science, planning and engineering, electronics, marketing, fiction, and I ended up back in academia working in horticulture for Texas A&M University.

And did I mention?  I'm a very open-minded editor.  We all have our own ways of doing things, and I truly respect and honor that.
